摘要:Cloud computing is not just a business for industry and companies, it can also be a useful technique for scientific research and education. In this talk I will first introduce the basic concept of cloud computing and describe how we can apply this interesting and powerful tool to scientific uses, including research, training, and education. Recent progress of online scientific research and education: websites, collaborations and accords as well as journals/publications will be discussed. Then, as the main part of this talk, I will demonstrate how to use the AMIDAS package online for both Monte–Carlo simulations and analyzing (pseudo)data sets to extract properties of halo Dark Matter particles, e.g., the mass and the (ratios between the) spin–independent and spin– dependent couplings/cross sections on nucleons. In order to show the model–independence of the AMIDAS package, blind reconstructions of the Dark Matter properties by using pseudodata sets with (non–)standard input setup will be presented.

报告人简介:
单中林博士,1995 年毕业于台湾新竹清华大学物理系(本科), 1997 年获台湾新竹清华大学(物理系)理学硕士学位,2007 年获德 国波恩大学(物理研究所)自然科学博士学位。之后曾在德国波恩大学、韩国首尔国立大学、台湾台南成功大学、台湾南港中央研究院、 台湾新竹理论中心等单位从事博士后研究工作,现为中国科学院新疆天文台研究员,并为 Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics (JCAP)、Frontiers of Physics、Astrophysics and Space Science 等期刊担任论文审查工作。其主要研究领域为天文粒子物理、暗物质(直接)探测唯象学、数值模拟与数据分析、云科学计算等。
